Endangered Design

In the United States alone, more than 1,200 animals and as many as 750 plants are endangered or threatened. Even with current conservation efforts, there is much more to be done.

In October 2013, I began a side project of illustrating patterns using one of the world’s endangered or threatened species as inspiration in hopes to build awareness.

ModCloth’s Cute as a Button Contest Winner 2011

ModCloth is an American online retailer specializing in vintage, vintage-inspired and indie clothing, accessories and decor.

In 2011, I participated in their Cute as a Button Design Facebook contest and won with the World War II idiom, “Loose Lips Sink Ships.”

Kate Spade & The Strand’s Beautiful Type Contest

Kate Spade New York is about crisp color, graphic prints and playful sophistication. The Strand is a NYC book store.

As part a celebration of beautiful type, the companies partnered in a contest to redesign one of their iconic totes.
